On 27th February, ESN EU had decided to organise a trip to International Sausage Festival. Festival took place in Sládkovičovo. It was cold Saturday morning, so ESN team did not expect many people to show up after partying on Friday. To the surprise of everyone, 11 people were brave enough to come and join ESN team.

We went by train from Bratislava to Sládkovičovo, which was unique experience for all of the exchange students – it was the first time they were travelling by train in Slovakia and it was for free! J We arrived to Sládkovičovo in 40 minutes, didn’t lose anyone and walked to the festival. It was around noon and we started to feel a bit hungry. At the festival, there was a lot of traditional food, not only sausages and it helped us to solve our problem. Everyone, who tried it, loved it! Then we decided to walk around a bit, there was a lot of food, mostly meat, which you could buy and eat at home and some of it you could even try for free! The sun started to shine, but we were still a bit cold, so we decided to buy typical mulled wine and try trdelník and šišky – both are sweet and you can always buy it at the various festivals.

After eating and drinking, some people went to the tent, where Slovak bands were performing. As time goes fast, we suddenly realised, we have to hurry up for the train back to Bratislava. A bit of a hurry combined with the running helped us to catch the train just in time. In conclusion, everyone loved Slovak food and drinks and therefore we consider this event as a successful one :).
